Keeping Up With Tech Trends

With the continuing evolution of technology, it’s not surprising how trends are constantly changing as well. A big number of companies try to create new trends or keep up and ride with the current ones as they create new tech startups that will hook the public and keep them wanting for more.

Take Flappy Bird for example. Although the application was released May of 2013, it made huge waves in 2014 and even became the most downloaded free game in the Apple App Store. It even earned $50,000 a day! After feeling guilty about it’s addictive nature, the creator of the game removed the game from application stores. But that gave opportunity for other developers to create their own application that was similar to it. So not long after that, hundreds of flappy bird-like applications were created and released in the application stores. But now it seems like the hype has died down and flappy bird will now just become another tech trend faded memory.

If you’re one of the companies that are making plans now for a new tech trend or you’re simply just making drafts for a new one, make sure you pay attention to what we think are the four rising tech trends this year. Bring out your pads and take note, people!

Think Smart

Nowadays, people are getting smart. Companies are creating better smart phones. Don’t know what the time is? Check your smart watch. You can now even wear your computer with smart glasses and smart homes are getting popular too. Yes, developers are finding new ways to bring smarter things in this world. Create your own application or device that will keep the momentum going.

Some People Excel at Technology and Some Don’t – Which One Are You?

enough or not? Do they inspire you or not? Are you willing to go the extra mile or not? Read on for insights.

If you are on the lookout by googling “technology” and browsing sites, then yes you are on the right path to technology.

On the other hand, if you are only chatting and posting on Facebook, you aren’t learning anything new about the good and modern stuff about Technology. You are simply wasting your valuable time.

This is a fast paced modern world and technology has hit every part of the world. So make sure you are updated about it and keep assembling the knowledge.

The more wisdom you gather on Technology on a daily basis, you excel in your digital tasks at home or work by applying the techniques you have learned.

Laypeople should also be aware about the technology sector. It helps them as well since everything now is digital and computerized.

But the challenge is whether technology interests you or not. You may be old-fashioned using old version computers and not keeping yourself equipped with modern digital devices. That shouldn’t be the case.

Whatever your work is about, work on a budget that allows you to buy the modern trend digital devices – at least one or two. It helps your children as well and naturally they will learn faster than you touching, pressing and hitting. In that sense, if you find something unworkable, ask your kids – they will find a solution for you. Yes, kids are that smart with technology.

In the worst case, go to the tech guy and learn whatever got you stuck with the devices.

In my opinion, the modern world is all about technology. So you should develop a natural interest in it and keep up pace with the modern day. Be on the lookout for something new about technology every single day, learn it and make the habit of taking a note of it in your “technology” notebook.

By keeping yourself updated this way, you are bound for the top and come out as a winner, thriving high and being a bright shining star.

What else have you got to bargain for? Simply follow my tip and reach for the stars high up in the sky. Trust me you have nothing to lose. Go, go for it.

National Trends in Exposure to and Experiences of Violence on the Internet Among Children

Whether it is through a news story, a nasty text message, or a game that involves stealing cars, violence seems to surround us – and this seems to be especially true with newer technologies.

Certainly, it is not hard to find media mentions of awful things that can happen online, including experiences like cyberbullying and nefarious exposures, such as hate sites or pictures of people dead or dying on a news site. Past research has shown that technology-based exposures to and experiences of violence, which includes harassment, bullying, or unwanted sexual exposure, can sometimes be associated with psychosocial challenges. These psychosocial challenges, which can include depression and alcohol abuse, not only affect the young person but also can be a burden for their families and the community as whole.

As social media sites seemingly become viral overnight, it makes sense that these exposures and experiences would increase. In a recent paper titled, National Trends in Exposure to and Experiences of Violence on the Internet among Children, published by the Center for Innovative Public Health team in the journal, Pediatrics indicates that technology-based violence may not be on the rise. From 2006 to 2008, over 1500 adolescents in the national Growing up with Media study reported their experiences of and exposures to violence online and via text messaging. The finding? It was a surprise: Harassment went down by 10%, as did exposure to violent cartoon sites like Just as important: rates of distress resulting from Internet harassment do not appear to be increasing. And rates of other Internet-based violent exposures and experiences seem to be holding steady over time.

Interestingly, many text-messaging-based violent experiences seem to have increased. Why? Well, although researchers do not know the exact cause, it may be related to increase in text message use.1 Indeed, partly related to the affordability of unlimited plans and the ease of instantaneous communication no matter where one is physically, text-messaging is fast becoming the primary communication tool for the majority of adolescents.2 It is also possible that because of the ease and speed of sending a text it is more conducive to violence, including harassment, bullying, and unwanted sexual exposure. Certainly, the lack of cell phone based filtering and parental

IT Outsourcing and Consulting: Top 2012 Trends

Technological change is accelerating at an exponential rate. Whereas it used to take decades for major shifts to occur, today’s big developments often come about in mere months. Read on to discover the IT outsourcing trends in 2012.

1. The Big Switch: Cloud Computing

Companies are gathering, analyzing, and storing more data than ever before. Cloud computing offers a convenient, cost-effective way to manage data, so it’s not wonder that increasing numbers of organizations are switching from costly on-site servers to remote servers. Typically, a firm can experience increased bandwidth with a cloud storage solution – meaning that the “big data” that today’s organizations demand can be more easily accessed.

The switch to cloud storage began in earnest last year, and it will continue through 2012, and indeed the rest of the decade. Information technology consulting firms will be busy building secure cloud-based networks. Forrester Research’s Holger Kisker has forecasted the cloud computing market to grow to $61 billion by year’s end. Kisker also highlights the fact that public cloud expenditures are growing four times faster than other IT spending.

If you contract with an IT outsourcing firm, be sure to ask what benefits you could see from switching to a cloud storage setup. Chances are that joining the cloud computing revolution would offer many advantages for your organization.

2. Tools to Facilitate Remote Teamwork

With access to company data via The Cloud, employees no longer need to access a local server, so they can work anywhere with secure Internet access. The challenge here is to monitor employee productivity remotely. To meet

Social Networking and Your Home Business

Social Networking is extremely popular right now. It brings worlds together with a few mouse clicks and a keyboard…or even your phone! We can build friendships with people thousands of miles away. Social Networking is also something that can also be beneficial for businesses.

Tips to Use Social Networking for Business Twitter is one of the most popular forms of social networking. It is like having an IM with the world. You can use Twitter to promote your business, self or service. The key though is to be active and unselfish. You cannot make it all about you. Relationships must be built. People on Twitter are like the rest of the Internet world…they despise spammers! Do not DM links or self promos. Save that for your live tweets. I would suggest 1 self promo tweet for every 7-10 non business tweets.

Ning and others like it. is a social networking platform that is usually categorized in different niches. For example, you may find a network for writers. Writers will go there and discuss their crafts and share what they are doing. The cool thing about places like ning is that each “member” of the network gets their own page. On their page they can have links and other self promoting things for their business, product or service. Members also have their own blogs that other members can come and read. Again, you must be careful not to be labeled a spammer. Join the community and build relationships. Stay in your niche and never make it all about you.

Facebook. You can get similar results with MySpace. However, for a more professional look and mature audience, Facebook is the best choice for business promotion. Create a personal page and be sure and add your link. Find people you know and people to network with. You can also create a page specifically for your business. Facebook is another way that you have a platform to promote you and what you do. As with anything though, do not be a spammer. Build relationships.
